Why I Specialize in Seniors

I had a wonderful opportunity to help seniors build their dream homes in a small gated community with single level living and yardcare for a couple of years. Most everyone buying in this community were empty nesters with homes that were too big, had too much yard work involved, or too many stairs for them with various health concerns. After speaking with dozens of people I quickly realized the need seniors have for finding a professional to assist them in selling their homes and helping them transition to something easy to manage.

As I was working with seniors in the new build community my own parents were having trouble getting around in their home. They had an extremely large home with a lot of stairs. My father had been having difficulties getting around with knee problems and on some occasions had to sleep in the family room as he was unable to get upstairs to the shower and bedrooms. He was very overwhelmed and at most times did not want to move as he was very emotionally invested in his home. Finally he realized the yard care , size of the home and amount of stairs was just too difficult for him to manage and we found them a single-level home that was perfect for their lifestyle. Although it was a difficult move, my parents now often say, "We wish we would have moved sooner!" It has greatly improved their stress level and daily life.
